If a day on a camel changes how you see the desert, a night in it changes how you remember it. This two-day camel trek from Dahab strings together canyon hikes, ancient inscriptions, a night camping at the mouth of the Closed Canyon, and lunch at the Ein Hudra oasis — travelling the whole way at the desert's own pace. Joseph and Annet lead the trip together, joined by a local Bedouin camel guide and his camels.
Day 1 — From your hotel to a camp in the canyons
Pickup from your hotel at 8:00 and a drive inland to Wadi Ghazalah, where your camel and camel guide are waiting. A camel ride and canyon hike bring us to Hamata Canyon, then a fresh desert lunch. From there we ride to Naqb el Hamidat, an old mountain pass, dismounting to walk alongside the camels past rock inscriptions left by Crusaders and early Bedouin — a guest book written in stone. A final ride brings us to camp at the mouth of the Closed Canyon, where dinner is cooked over the fire under a sky with no light pollution at all.

Day 2 — The Closed Canyon, the oasis & the White Canyon
After breakfast in camp, we hike through the Closed Canyon in the cool of the morning — one of Sinai's most striking slot canyons. Tea by the fire while the car and camels are loaded, then a camel ride brings us to the Ein Hudra oasis, one of Sinai's oldest and loveliest, for lunch among the palms. From there we hike the White Canyon, whose pale, narrow walls are among the most photographed in the Sinai, before a final camel ride to the road and the drive home to Dahab.
